Sunshine at 4pm - a Summer Playlist
Best to listen to while on your way to the bodega.
said my old friend, Jon Pruett when I asked him to create a Summer Playlist for The Radder. He went on to say, For much of the last decade, I have spent summers in tropical environments. I’ve made it a priority. And while the tropics are suitable for most of life’s pleasures, it tends to suck for music. I always pack a speaker (not for the beach – speakers at the beach are weird and unnatural). But for the ride home. Or that moment you get in from whatever you’ve been up to. Weather not so hot. Sun headed down. Deep doo-wop and Turkish pop, cosmic adult-oriented rock and cryptic soul – songs that rip open a hole in the brain for just a shared second. Thinking of adventure and, like Tom Verlaine once sang, “I love adventure.” Thank you much, Jon for putting together 50 songs as a backdrop to Summer 2016 : |
