Gradient Pink at Øgaard

Today and tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday, Øgaard in Oakland is hosting the collaborative concept shop "Gradient Pink" featuring the works of amazing local Bay Area artists:

The works are not only created in fiber; mediums include wood, ceramics, bees wax and suede. Each item in the show uses raw materials that were dyed at different points in the same cochineal dye vat (created by Tessa Watson, artist and gallery owner of Øgaard) until the vat was exhausted of its color. In doing this, it produced a color range from deep burgundy to hot pink to pale lavender. The designers then took their cochineal dyed materials and created beautiful one of a kind pieces for the shop.
